Our Story

Joshua and I met at South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD) in the Spring of 2013. He had just started working in the Department of Animal Science as the Livestock Judging Coach and an instructor of undergraduate courses. At the time, I was a Junior working toward my B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Business. We began officially dating that summer, when he took me to his home state of Florida to meet his family. We were married in July of 2015.

Following graduation from SDSU, I found myself longing for something that fueled my soul. While I worked with wonderful people, I honestly hated my job. Although it wasn't an option to say goodbye to a regular paycheck, I began pursuing my love of communications.

Our Perspective was born out of a visible need for high quality workmanship in the arena of livestock photography and videography, while still remaining an affordable option for producers. With a love and understanding of graphics, graphic design naturally became a part of the service offering. The business began with less than a handful of clients; after all, I was working a full-time job in town. While my dream was always to be a stay-at-home mom/work-at-home mom, Joshua and I just couldn't get past the financial insecurity jumping into a small business presents.

Four babies and nearly a decade later, I work solely work The OP focusing on building long-term relationships with clients and helping them to best market their livestock operations and products. Over the years, the business has continued to grow and shift to better meet the needs of our growing family, as well as our clients. In September of 2020, we added custom brand apparel and promotional item services to our line-up of services. Our newest venture for this business is into the realm of e-commerce. It's always been a dream of mine to own a store. And so, with some faith and drive we have recently released the "In Christ" Collection under our Shop tab.

Joshua and I are constantly on the move, but we wouldn't have our life any other way. Josh works full-time for 605 Sires + Donors as the Operations Manager of their Marion, South Dakota location. The Lord has blessed us with four beautiful children - Jesse Vess (10yo), Jedidiah William (7yo), Millie Anne (5yo), and Amelia Jo (2yo). With our littles, we also run a registered Simmental and Angus operation we started from just 4 head a little over ten years ago. There is never a shortage of things to do, but boy are we ever so grateful God allows us to do each and every thing he's placed on our hearts and so much more.

We hope you'll follow along with our journeys on Facebook and Instagram. And if you ever come across us while out and about, please do stop us and say hello!
